Ministry reports violations by Electric Networks to regulator

The Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure has submitted a report to the Public Services Regulatory Commission regarding violations committed by Electric Networks of Armenia (ENA), according to the ministry's press office, as reported by RFE/RL.

The commission must now decide whether to initiate proceedings and investigate the report. Commission spokesperson Liana Azizyan stated that no decision has been made yet.

According to RFE/RL, the candidate for the position of ENA manager is Romanos Petrosyan, a member of the Civil Contract party who was recently dismissed as head of the State Supervision Service. Azizyan declined to comment on this matter, stating she had no information.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan previously announced in a press conference that the government intends to take control of ENA, and will proceed accordingly. The move to nationalize ENA began after its owner, Samvel Karapetyan, publicly defended the Armenian Apostolic Church from Pashinyan’s criticism and was subsequently detained for two months.
