On July 17, Armenian National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan met with U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Kristina Kvien. The two discussed recent developments in the region, alongside the current agenda of Armenia-U.S. bilateral relations.
They explored opportunities for deepening the strategic partnership, with particular emphasis on expanding economic ties.
Earlier, U.S. Ambassador to Turkey Jeff Flake stated that Washington is ready to monitor a potential transport corridor near Iran’s border to aid negotiations between Baku and Yerevan. In response, Armenian Prime Minister’s spokesperson Nazeli Baghdasaryan reaffirmed that Armenia addresses regional infrastructure unblocking solely within the framework of its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and jurisdiction. She stressed that Armenia has not delegated and does not intend to delegate control over its sovereign territory to any third party.
