Following the unveiling ceremony of a statue in Yerevan honoring renowned artist, chansonnier, and Armenian national hero Charles Aznavour, his son Nicolas Aznavour declared that he will stand with Armenia no matter what the future holds.
"I have taken on the responsibility to be with Armenia. I hope the country has the best future ahead. Whatever the future holds, I will always be by Armenia's side," he stated, according to Panorama.am .
He also noted that he inherited his father’s optimism, recalling that Charles Aznavour never doubted Armenia’s bright future.
Despite journalists posing political questions, Nikola Aznavour’s wife, who was translating for him, chose not to translate those inquiries, stating that they do not discuss politics and are focused on their charitable foundation.
*A statue of the legendary chansonnier was unveiled in Aznavour Square in Yerevan. The sculpture, created by Davit Minasyan, was cast in Gyumri. The Yerevan municipality initiated and fully funded the installation project.
