A session of the Constitutional Reform Council was held under the leadership of Justice Minister Srbuhi Galyan, who chairs the council. The session focused on reviewing constitutional regulations related to the National Assembly.
The council will continue to convene regularly.
Galyan stated in May that the new Constitution is in the drafting stage and is expected to be ready in ten months. Earlier, the Prime Minister had expressed that there should be no reference to the Declaration of Independence in the constitutional text.
Before signing a peace agreement, Azerbaijan is demanding changes to Armenia’s Constitution, specifically the removal of a reference to the Declaration of Independence in the preamble, which mentions the unification of Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh.
