Ex-head of the department of the execution of criminal penalties of the ministry of internal affairs of Armenia Mushegh Saghatelian is sentenced to imprisonment of seven years in the colony with strict regulations and to payment of the fine of 80 thousand drams ($135). The court of first instance of Center and Nork-Marash districts found him guilty of forgery of documents (when starting his job in the MIA he introduced forged diploma), exceeding his official authority (his participation in beating of prisoners and the arrested is proved), preparation of false denunciation (he participated in fabrication of “evidences” that must have been the evidence of president Robert Kocharian and defense minister Serge Sarkisian’s involving in organization of the terror act in the Armenian parliament). Lawyer of the criminal Robert Grigorian has stated about his intention to appeal the verdict in appeal court.
