The Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member states are preparing to begin electronic commerce in early 2026 by signing a corresponding agreement by the end of 2025.
According to the press service of the Eurasian Economic Commission, the agreement is intended to establish transparent common rules within the union’s internal market and accelerate the transition to a new accounting system.
Outstanding disagreements are still being addressed concerning e-commerce regulations, consumer protection, the use of electronic document management, product circulation conditions, and the creation of a unified structure, reports Vesti Kavkaza.
Askat Bekov, Deputy Director of the EEC’s Department of Customs Tariff and Non-Tariff Regulation and chair of the meeting, emphasized that the unified and clear rules defined in the document will ensure the free movement of goods. Coupled with digitalization, this will provide a major stimulus for the economic growth of EAEU member states.
Bekov also noted that the agreement has already been developed and that the final signing date is currently being determined.
