The Ministry of Defense of Armenia has proposed extending the 2025 summer conscription period until August 15. The relevant draft decision has been published on the legal acts portal.
The proposal stems from the need to complete medical evaluations of citizens subject to conscription during the summer 2025 call-up.
“The mandatory military and alternative summer conscription for male citizens of the Republic of Armenia has been announced from April 21 to July 31, 2025. However, the current review of conscription procedures indicates that, as of July 1, due to the slow progress and often unnecessary delays in the medical examination process by the healthcare system, it will not be possible to complete proper assessments by July 31, nor to determine whether individuals are subject to conscription based on these results,” the justification states.
To avoid unnecessary deferrals or postponing medical assessments to the winter draft, the Ministry finds it necessary to extend the summer conscription period through August 15, 2025.
