Jermuk gets €6 million boost for tourism

The Armenian Ministry of Economy has announced a new €6 million financial support initiative aimed at promoting tourism in Jermuk.

During a meeting with local business representatives in Jermuk, Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan stated that €6 million in additional funding is planned to enhance the community’s tourism appeal through ministry programs.

“Our primary goal is to create an environment where tourists have memorable and fulfilling experiences, and entrepreneurs enjoy stable development opportunities with appropriate state support,” said Papoyan.

The discussions focused on stimulating Jermuk’s economic activity, increasing its tourism potential, and improving the investment climate. The minister presented the current stage of Jermuk’s cluster development, emphasizing that the town is now included as a beneficiary in a new loan program.

Local business representatives raised their concerns and challenges during the meeting. Papoyan assured them that the ministry will continue to provide effective support within its authority, contributing to the strengthening of the local economy and the sustainable development of the business environment.

Members of the National Assembly, regional and local officials, and the head of the Tourism Committee also participated in the discussion.
