Аrmenian students win 3 bronze medals in Мath Оlympiad

Armenian high school students have won three bronze medals and three honorable mentions at the 66th International Mathematical Olympiad held in Sunshine Coast, Australia.

The competition, which took place from July 10 to 20, featured two theoretical rounds and included 630 participants from 110 countries, according to Armenia’s Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports.

Bronze medals were awarded to Sargis Arakelyan (10th grade) and Tsovak Egoryan (12th grade) from the A. Shahinyan Physics-Mathematics Specialized School, and to Alex Grigoryan (11th grade) from the Quantum College.

Honorable mentions went to Arsen Makaryan (11th grade), Mikayel Galstyan (12th grade), and Alen Ghazaryan (12th grade)—all students of the A. Shahinyan Physics-Mathematics School.

The Armenian delegation was led by math teachers Gurgen Asatryan and Suren Grigoryan from the A. Shahinyan School.

Last year, during the 65th International Mathematical Olympiad in Bath, United Kingdom, Armenia’s team earned five bronze medals and one honorable mention.
