Armenia, Greece sign cultural cooperation agreements

Armenia and Greece have formalized several cultural cooperation agreements, aiming to deepen ties through joint projects, heritage preservation, and artistic exchange.

During a meeting at Greece’s National Gallery, Armenia’s Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport, Zhanna Andreasyan, met with Greek Minister of Culture, Styliani (Lina) Mendoni. Andreasyan outlined key priorities in Armenia’s cultural development, emphasizing the importance of multifaceted joint initiatives.

They explored prospects for sectoral exchange programs, collaboration between museums, organization of cultural days, joint exhibitions and film projects, and sharing expertise in cultural heritage preservation and management.

Following the meeting, several cultural cooperation documents were signed. These include a program for cooperation in the field of culture, an agreement to prevent the illicit circulation of cultural property, a memorandum between the Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra and the Thessaloniki Megaron Concert Hall, and another between the Armenian National Cinema Foundation and the Greek Film Centre.

Zhanna Andreasyan and Styliani (Lina) Mendoni expressed confidence that the signed documents will inject new substance into Armenian-Greek cultural relations and mark the beginning of new avenues for cooperation.

The meeting also covered other topics of mutual bilateral interest.
