The 2025 summer conscription period in Armenia has been extended until August 15. The government approved the decision.
According to the April 17 government decree No. 422-N, the original conscription period for mandatory or alternative military service was scheduled from June 23 to July 31, 2025. However, the Defense Ministry clarified that it was unable to complete medical evaluations for all draftees within that timeframe.
"Given the increased volume of medical assessments for conscripts, it will not be possible to complete proper evaluations and determine draft eligibility by July 31, 2025. To avoid unnecessary deferrals or transferring medical examinations to the winter draft period, it has become necessary to extend the current conscription timeline through August 15, 2025," the ministry’s justification reads.
