Аrchbishop Bagrat sues Petrosyan, Torosyan for defamation

Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, leader of the Sacred Struggle movement, has filed a lawsuit against Romanos Petrosyan, former head of the State Oversight Service and current interim manager of the Electric Networks of Armenia, and Arsen Torosyan, a parliament member from the ruling Civil Contract faction, Factor.am reports.

Archbishop is demanding 3 million drams in compensation from each official for non-material damages: 1 million drams for defamation and 2 million drams for insult.

Earlier, it was revealed that Archbishop Galstanyan had also filed lawsuits against Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan, Civil Contract MP Vahagn Aleksanyan, and several other public figures. He seeks 6 million drams from Aleksanyan, and 3 million drams each from Avanesyan, Republic party leader Aram Sargsyan, party council member Ani Khachatryan, former MP Styopa Safaryan, and political analyst Harutyun Mkrtchyan.

Minister Anahit Avanesyan has stated her intention to file a joint countersuit against Archbishop Bagrat.
