Property damage recovery exceeds AMD 20 bln drams in six months

In the first half of 2025, Armenia’s Investigative Committee handled 56,814 criminal cases, of which 18,969 were completed—an increase of 1,082 cases compared to 17,887 in the same period last year.

Out of the 18,969 completed proceedings, 6,111 cases involving 6,547 individuals were sent to court with indictments. This marks an increase of 984 cases from the same period in 2024, when the figure stood at 5,127. Meanwhile, 12,858 cases were closed without further action, a slight increase from 12,760 last year.

The Investigative Committee has also prioritized recovering damages resulting from criminal offenses. In cases concluded during the reporting period, 4.37 billion drams in damages were compensated, and property valued at 509.9 million drams was seized.

In ongoing cases, an additional 16.09 billion drams were recovered during the same timeframe. Altogether, a total of 20.47 billion drams in damages were recovered in completed and active cases during the first half of 2025.
