Ninth-grade book titled “History of Armenia” introduced

Armenian schools to adopt “History of Armenia” as new course name starting September, replacing the former “History of the Armenian People”.

Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan announced via her Facebook page that from September, a revised textbook titled “History of Armenia” will be introduced for 9th-grade students.

Her post included photos showing the book’s cover and introduction, with the caption: “Starting from September — in schools.”

According to the ministry’s proposal, the course previously known as “History of the Armenian People” has been renamed “History of Armenia”.

This change was justified by the need to revise content discrepancies identified in paragraphs 33 and 35 of the National Curriculum for General Education.
