Alen Simonyan, chairman of Armenia’s National Assembly, shared a Russian-language message on his Telegram channel, stating that such messages are used to recruit prominent individuals.
“As I’ve said before, a major campaign against Armenia has begun. The hybrid war is underway. These (RUSSIAN-LANGUAGE) messages aim to recruit famous people and bloggers to create an alternative reality in Armenia and spread lies. Once again, they believe they can buy everyone and everything—buy our free people with cash and enslave them. The payments differ, but the money is Russian rubles,” Simonyan wrote.
He stated that the ultimate goal is “to turn the Republic of Armenia into a stronghold in the hands of pro-Russian oligarchs.”
The anonymous Russian-language message mentions three key talking points: criticism of Prime Minister Pashinyan, support for Samvel Karapetyan (arguing that businessmen should not be jailed, as it harms the country and democracy), and support for the Catholicos (without elaboration). The message says content can take any form—series, reels, TikToks.
