Armenia, Russia discuss economic data systems

A delegation from Armenia’s Ministry of Finance, led by Arshaluys Harutyunyan, Head of the Macroeconomic Policy Department, paid a working visit to the Russian Federation for consultations with representatives of Russia’s Ministry of Finance, including its Financial Research Institute and other departments.

During the meetings, discussions focused on the development of systems for short-term forecasting of real sector economic indicators and frameworks for assessing fiscal risks.

The exchange also included meetings with Yevgeny Dombrovsky, Director of the Department of Budget Policy and Strategic Planning at the Russian Ministry of Finance, and Irina Gopta, Head of the Department of Macroeconomic Policy.

The parties discussed the features of the semi-structural gap model (SSGM) currently under development at Armenia’s Ministry of Finance for medium-term macroeconomic forecasting, and the prospective development directions of Russia’s own model-based system.
