Pezeshkian visit to boost Armenia-Iran ties, says VP

Iranian Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref stated that President Masoud Pezeshkian’s upcoming visit to Armenia is expected to open a new chapter in bilateral relations.

During his working visit to Turkmenbashi, Turkmenistan, on August 4, President Vahagn Khachaturyan met with Aref on the sidelines of the third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries.

“We are confident that President Pezeshkian’s visit to Armenia will lead to an expansion and deepening of relations between our two countries, marking a new page,” Aref stated, as quoted by IRNA via Radar Armenia.

According to the Armenian president's office, the two officials focused on prospects for enhancing cooperation in sectors including the economy, energy, infrastructure, and high technologies. President Khachaturyan praised the work carried out by an Iranian company on the Meghri-Kajaran section of the North-South Road Corridor, highlighting its significance in regional connectivity.

They also exchanged views on the broader regional situation and developments, underscoring the importance of good-neighborly relations, mutual respect, and peaceful coexistence as the foundation for stability and development across the region.
