The meeting between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and U.S. President Donald Trump will take place on August 8 at 2:30 p.m. Washington time, which is 10:30 p.m. Yerevan time, 1lurer.am reports.
Trump’s meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev is scheduled for 11:20 p.m. Yerevan time, followed by a trilateral summit at midnight.
Prime Minister Pashinyan’s delegation is currently in the United States. It includes Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister Arayik Harutyunyan, Secretary of the Security Council Armen Grigoryan, head of the Civil Contract parliamentary faction Hayk Konjoryan, and Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan.
President Trump has called the upcoming White House meeting between Pashinyan and Aliyev historic, stating they will officially sign a peace agreement.
According to Reuters, the detailed section of the agreement provides the United States with exclusive rights to develop a transit corridor from Armenia for a long period, though the exact duration is unknown. It will be called “Trump’s Road for International Peace and Prosperity” and will be known by the acronym TRIPP.
