Former chairman of Armenia’s State Revenue Committee Vardan Harutyunyan will be detained for two months, his lawyer Armen Andrikyan told reporters.
He said the defense has not yet received the full court decision, only an excerpt, according to Aysor.am .
Andrikyan called the ruling “an absurdity from a legal standpoint,” adding: “I do not see any trace of legality.”
Harutyunyan was arrested on the evening of August 7.
The Anti-Corruption Committee earlier announced that Harutyunyan had been detained on charges of unlawful involvement in entrepreneurial activity, engaging in anti-competitive conduct, and money laundering.
