Trump Route to be jointly managed as business project: Pashinyan

Within the framework of the Trump Route project, the Armenian-American company to be established will perform business management functions rather than oversight, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated.

“The Armenia–United States company will not monitor this road, but will manage it. In other words, it will carry out business management,” he said, according to Armenpress.

The Prime Minister also emphasized the importance of reciprocity: “We have never said we intend to obstruct communication between mainland Azerbaijan and the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic. Under the principles outlined in the Washington Declaration, Azerbaijan’s right to connectivity is highlighted, and likewise, Armenia is granted both domestic and international, that is, third-country, reciprocal advantages.”

Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan earlier announced that the company to be created in Armenia under the Trump Route project will be registered with shares divided between Armenia and the United States.

Previously, in Washington, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, and U.S. President Donald Trump officially reached an agreement on launching the Trump Route.
