Speaking to reporters after a Cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan addressed opposition claims that the government is preparing to sign another capitulation. He recalled that between July and October 2022, opposition forces repeatedly made similar statements, even though they had already labeled the November 9, 2020 document as capitulation.
“Yet now, when peace has been established, they say they are ready to withdraw their signature and refuse to sign the peace agreement—returning to the same methodological mistake. Capitulation can be signed once; it cannot be signed six times. If we listen to our opponents, then we have already signed capitulation 5–6 times, and that’s not enough, as they claim we are preparing to sign new ones. This is sufficient analytical evidence to conclude that they speak this way simply because they have nothing meaningful to say—there is no other reason,” he said, according to Aysor.am .
The Prime Minister added that contradictions exist “not only in the opposition’s assessments but also in their behavior.” He reminded that despite their public statements, opposition forces had expressed readiness to maintain the November 9 agreement if they came to power. He stressed that threats to refuse or cancel the peace agreement also contradict their earlier positions.
