Mirzoyan presents regional transit opportunities in Kapan

During the Ambassadors’ Conference held in Kapan, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan presented the outcomes of the August 8 negotiations in Washington and the resulting agreements.

Addressing the preliminary Armenia-Azerbaijan peace agreement, Mirzoyan highlighted the significance of a lasting peace not only for Armenia but for the entire region. He also introduced a renewed vision for Armenia’s foreign policy, emphasizing the emerging opportunities and outlining the steps planned for their realization.

Mirzoyan stated that ensuring a consistent peace process in the region, along with creating secure, stable, and prosperous conditions for Armenian citizens, remains a priority for both the Armenian government and its diplomatic corps.

The minister further discussed the prospective benefits of unblocking regional transport links, Armenia’s full integration into international transit routes, and upcoming steps toward implementing the trilateral declaration signed in Washington.

The discussion also touched on the progress achieved so far and included exchanges of views on various topics, including ongoing efforts to deepen strategic partnerships.

On August 8, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, U.S. President Donald Trump, and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed a joint declaration at the White House following a trilateral meeting. In Washington, Foreign Ministers Ararat Mirzoyan and Jeyhun Bayramov preliminarily signed the “Agreement on the Establishment of Peace and Interstate Relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan” in the presence of their respective leaders and the U.S. President.
