Since the beginning of 2025, Armenia has recorded two laboratory-confirmed cases of West Nile fever. The National Center for Disease Control and Prevention reported that, despite existing risks, the country’s epidemiological situation remains stable.
European health institutions had previously warned that this year’s high temperatures could contribute to a rise in mosquito-borne diseases, among which West Nile fever is considered one of the most concerning.
According to the Armenian health authorities, only two confirmed cases have been reported during the first eight months of the year.
To prevent mosquito-borne infections, it is advised to wear closed clothing in forested or aquatic areas, use insect repellent products and devices, and install protective nets at home and in open spaces.
