From January to June 2025, Armenia granted temporary residence status to 1,815 foreigners and permanent residence to 1,775, according to data published by the Statistical Committee.
Of those with temporary status, 638 received it on the basis of family reunification, 769 for education, 398 for entrepreneurial activity, and 10 for being of Armenian origin, Armenpress reported.
Russians accounted for the largest share of temporary permits (474), followed by Indian citizens (466) and Iranian citizens (293).
Permanent residence was granted to 1,775 foreigners. Of these, 209 qualified by living in Armenia for at least three years and proving close family ties, housing, and financial stability. Another 251 received it through entrepreneurship, while the largest group—1,315—were of Armenian descent.
Among permanent residents, Russian citizens again topped the list with 970 individuals, followed by citizens of Georgia (143), Syria (117), Ukraine (113), and Lebanon (48).
