Armenia records 1,597 natural population growth in 6 months

According to newly released data from Armenia’s Statistical Committee, 14,609 children were born in the country between January and June 2025. This is 1,007 fewer than in the same period of 2024. The number of deaths totaled 13,012, down by 58 compared to the previous year.

Based on these figures, Armenia’s natural population growth amounted to 1,597 people, Armenpress reported.

The number of stillbirths declined, with 197 cases recorded, compared to 229 in the first half of 2024.

Marriage rates also fell. In the first six months of 2025, 6,388 marriages were registered, marking a 15.3% decrease year-on-year.

At the same time, divorces increased to 2,352, up from 2,220 during the same period last year.
