On September 1, at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Tianjin, Chinese President Xi Jinping announced that China supports Armenia and Azerbaijan in joining the SCO as permanent members.
“These countries currently hold the status of SCO dialogue partners,” Xi noted, Aysor.am reported, citing China Global Television Network.
He added that Beijing is ready to provide both financial and organizational support for the further development of the SCO.
Earlier, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that Armenia intends to become a full member of the SCO.
