On September 1, Armenia’s Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan met with Alexander Yesayan, co-founder of Firebird, to discuss the ongoing development of a large-scale artificial intelligence data center in Armenia.
During the meeting, Yesayan presented the work already completed as part of the project. The sides addressed several urgent strategic and technical issues that have arisen during implementation. Special focus was given to selecting the optimal site for construction, ensuring available infrastructure at that location, and resolving current challenges related to reliable power supply.
Minister Hayrapetyan emphasized the importance of coordinating all work to ensure the project's success, noting that the data center would play a key role in the further growth of Armenia’s tech community and innovation ecosystem.
The project involves an estimated $500 million investment, the deployment of thousands of NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs, and the development of infrastructure with a capacity exceeding 100 megawatts.
At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed on several solutions and reached preliminary agreements to effectively plan the next steps and ensure successful implementation.
The meeting was also attended by First Deputy Minister Gevorg Mantashyan and Vahagn Mughniyants of Enterprise Armenia.
