Armenia’s State Cadastre Committee of Real Estate will digitize paper-based property documents from the Soviet era, according to the head of the State Property Management Committee, Arnak Avetisyan, during a session of the National Assembly’s Economic Affairs Committee. He was presenting a proposed amendment to Armenia’s Law on Property Registration.
Avetisyan recalled that all new cadastre documents are now issued electronically, accompanied by a QR code linked to the cadastre’s central database. This QR code allows notaries to access the document instantly during transactions, Sputnik Armenia reports.
He added that the same model is planned for property records from previous decades, including the Soviet period. The goal is to ensure digital accessibility and improved preservation of these historical documents.
