Armenia, Kazakhstan lift visa regime for citizens

Kazakhstan’s lower house of parliament has ratified the agreement between the governments of Kazakhstan and Armenia on the movement and stay of citizens, allowing nationals of both countries to enter without a visa. The news was confirmed by Kazakhstan’s Interior Minister Yerzhan Sadenov, reports Panorama.am.

According to the minister, Armenian and Kazakh citizens can now travel to each other’s countries with only an identity document and stay up to 90 days without police registration.

For stays longer than 90 days, the period may be extended under national legislation. A temporary residence permit can be obtained within one business day, free of charge.

This arrangement abolishes the previous visa regime, significantly reducing entry-related costs for travelers.

Armenia ratified the agreement earlier, on November 15, 2024.

According to official data, around 12,000 Armenian citizens visited Kazakhstan in 2025.
