At the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with Han Zheng, Vice President of the People’s Republic of China.
Han welcomed Pashinyan’s visit to China and his participation in the SCO summit and the military parade in Beijing. He stressed that the effective meeting between Armenia’s prime minister and Chinese President Xi Jinping resulted in the establishment of a strategic partnership, which will help broaden cooperation across multiple sectors.
Han underlined that China attaches great importance to establishing a strategic partnership with Armenia, and Pashinyan’s visit plays a key role in that regard.
Pashinyan thanked the Chinese side for the invitation and warm reception, noting that the working visit holds significant importance for Armenia. He emphasized that elevating bilateral ties to the level of strategic partnership opens new opportunities for deepening cooperation. According to him, in recent years political, economic, and cultural collaboration has expanded, while ties between the peoples of both countries have also strengthened. He highlighted the mutual sympathy between Armenians and Chinese as a solid foundation for comprehensive cooperation.
The two sides also exchanged views on issues of international importance and expressed confidence that Armenia–China cooperation will continue to grow both bilaterally and in multilateral formats.
Pashinyan, accompanied by his wife Anna Hakobyan, attended a military parade in Beijing marking the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II. The event was attended by leaders of Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states and several other world leaders. High-ranking guests were welcomed by Chinese President Xi Jinping and First Lady Peng Liyuan. Xi delivered a keynote address during the parade.
