The Ministry of High-Tech Industry reported that problems Armenian users noticed online on September 4 from 11:10 a.m. local time were part of a broader regional outage caused by disruptions in Google services.
“According to information shared by Google, more than 50 countries were affected,” the ministry’s statement read.
Information security expert Samvel Martirosyan told Factor.am that there is still no official explanation for what caused the outages in Google and YouTube.
“The reasons for the disruptions are not yet known, and we won’t have such details this quickly. Google remains silent for now. Not all issues have been resolved — in Turkey, for example, the problems still persist,” Martirosyan said.
He added that the outages were not global but affected services in Turkey, Bulgaria, Greece, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, and countries across the region.
At around 11:10 a.m., users worldwide reported problems accessing Google search and related services, including YouTube. The disruptions have since been fixed, and services are again available.
