Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan and U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Kristina Kvien have discussed prospects for reopening regional transportation routes.
During the meeting, both sides underscored the significance of the agreements reached on August 8 in Washington between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as the memorandums of understanding signed between the governments of Armenia and the United States.
They also exchanged views on possible ways to advance bilateral relations between Armenia and the United States.
In Washington, Armenian, Azerbaijani, and U.S. leaders—Nikol Pashinyan, Ilham Aliyev, and Donald Trump—formally agreed on the launch of the “Trump Route.”
“The route will allow Azerbaijan to access Nakhichevan while fully respecting Armenia’s sovereignty. Armenia is also establishing an exclusive partnership with the U.S. to develop this corridor, which may be extended for up to 99 years, with the possibility of another 99-year renewal. We anticipate major infrastructure development. American companies are eager to enter these countries and invest heavily, bringing economic benefits to all three nations,” Trump stated.
