The British newspaper The Times has published an article on Yerevan, describing its architecture, ancient culture, and the mystical presence of Mount Ararat.
The piece notes that while Yerevan may not top tourist must-visit lists, Armenia’s capital captivates with its atmosphere, Soviet-era architecture, delicious food, and drinks.
“Yerevan is considered one of the world’s oldest continuously inhabited cities, surrounded by ancient temples and churches. Mystical Mount Ararat towers over the city — on clear days it appears on the horizon, as if floating in the sky, creating a mesmerizing scene,” the article reads.
The author recommends visiting Cascade and climbing up to the Mother Armenia monument, strolling along Moskovyan Street with its mosaic version of Martiros Saryan’s 1923 painting, visiting the Tsitsernakaberd memorial (though emotionally heavy), and exploring the city’s market, the Blue Mosque, and the ruins of Zvartnots Cathedral.
The article also touches on Yerevan’s hotels, cafes, and restaurants.
