Armenian, Azerbaijani delegations exchange visits across borders

On September 5, delegations from Armenia and Azerbaijan, led by Deputy Prime Ministers Mher Grigoryan and Shahin Mustafayev respectively, carried out reciprocal visits to each other’s territories.

According to Armenia’s Foreign Ministry, the visits followed the agreements reached on August 8, 2025, in Washington, and included discussions on border delimitation, demining operations, and the restoration and construction of essential infrastructure.

The sides also reviewed timelines for these initiatives to synchronize processes in the area of transport connectivity.

Delegation leaders exchanged views on organizing the next session of the joint commissions on border delimitation and security.

In Washington, the leaders of Armenia, Azerbaijan, and the U.S.—Nikol Pashinyan, Ilham Aliyev, and Donald Trump—formally agreed to launch the Trump Route.

“The route will allow Azerbaijan to access Nakhichevan while fully respecting Armenia’s sovereignty. Armenia, in turn, forms an exclusive partnership with the U.S. to develop this corridor. Its duration may extend up to 99 years, with another 99-year extension promised. Major infrastructure development is expected, and American companies are eager to enter and invest heavily, bringing economic benefits to all three nations,” Trump stated.
