Pashinyan’s plane travels through Azerbaijani airspace

Prime Minister’s spokesperson Nazeli Baghdasaryan confirmed that Nikol Pashinyan’s plane passed through Azerbaijan’s airspace when departing on August 30 for a foreign visit and when returning to Armenia on the night of September 6.

She recalled that Azerbaijani aircraft have long used Armenian airspace.

“After the Washington peace agreement of August 8, Armenia’s relevant authorities requested air transit for the Prime Minister’s plane from Azerbaijan and received a positive response. We view this fact as a practical step toward unblocking regional communications, advancing the peace agenda, and fostering mutual trust. Azerbaijani planes have long been using Armenian airspace to connect the main part of Azerbaijan with the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic,” Baghdasaryan wrote.

Pashinyan traveled with his wife to China and then to Japan.
