Secretary of Armenia’s Security Council Armen Grigoryan held a meeting in Vienna with Nikolaus Marschik, Secretary General of Austria’s Foreign Ministry.
They discussed the unblocking of regional transport routes, emphasizing the expected economic and investment prospects and the importance of leveraging existing potential for advancing trade and economic cooperation.
Both sides underlined the importance of Armenia-Austria multifaceted cooperation and its steady development. They also noted that high-level meetings play a key role in strengthening bilateral ties, according to the Armenian Security Council’s office.
Grigoryan and Marschik also addressed multilateral cooperation formats, including opportunities under the expanded Armenia–EU agenda.
In Washington, Armenian, Azerbaijani, and U.S. leaders—Nikol Pashinyan, Ilham Aliyev, and Donald Trump—officially agreed to launch the Trump Route. This project will allow Azerbaijan access to Nakhichevan while fully respecting Armenia’s sovereignty. Armenia is also entering an exclusive partnership with the U.S. to develop the corridor, which may be extended for up to 99 years, with a promised renewal for another 99. Significant infrastructure investments are expected, with eager American companies set to invest heavily, benefiting all three nations, Trump stated.
