Armenia reiterates its readiness to swiftly conclude a peace agreement with Azerbaijan, viewing it as a major step toward institutionalizing lasting peace, according to Ani Badalyan, spokesperson for Armenia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
"When the agreement text was finalized on March 13 this year, the Armenian side also expressed its readiness to sign it promptly. This approach was reaffirmed on August 8 with the preliminary signing of the agreement, which, as a milestone toward peace, received wide international support.
Armenia’s principled stance on the signing timeline remains unchanged. Signing the agreement in the shortest possible time would mark a serious advancement toward institutionalizing the achieved peace," Badalyan emphasized, as reported by Armenpress.
Earlier, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated at Rome’s Institute of International Relations that Turkey expects Armenia and Azerbaijan to sign the peace treaty in the first half of 2026.
