At the Comprehensive Security and Resilience 2025 international conference, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that his government’s aim is not only to ensure peace and security today but to secure Armenia’s long-term future.
“Our task is not to provide peace and security now, only for another explosion to occur ten years later, leaving us to say, ‘See, we warned you,’” Pashinyan said, as reported by Aysor.am .
He stressed that decisions made now must ensure security not just in the present but for centuries ahead.
“We find it unacceptable to think in weeks, months, years, or even decades. We’ve moved past the stage where we thought only two hours ahead,” he said.
The Prime Minister added that even if today some consider him a traitor, the government’s decisions will ensure that in 100 or 150 years Armenia will remain a state.
“I raised this question two years ago, and now I say it openly: this is how it will be,” Pashinyan emphasized.
He assured that Armenia’s independence and sovereignty are stronger than ever before.
“Armenia has never been more secure than it is today,” he declared.
At the same conference, Pashinyan explained why he recognized Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity, saying it was necessary to ensure recognition of Armenia’s own borders, since each state’s territorial integrity is interlinked with that of its neighbors.
