Armenia’s Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met with Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA) Secretary General Marcin Chepelak on September 18 in The Hague, according to the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the meeting, the two officials discussed Armenia’s growing involvement in international legal platforms, highlighting the country’s political will to join the PCA’s founding conventions as a key expression of this engagement.
Mirzoyan and Chepelak also exchanged views on the new opportunities created by Armenia’s accession to the PCA, potential cooperation in peacefully resolving international disputes, and the reinforcement of the rule of law.
By ratifying The Hague conventions, Armenia became a member of the PCA, gaining the right to nominate arbitrators who may serve in cases involving disputes between states or in investment arbitration proceedings.
