Members of the opposition I Have Honor faction in Armenia’s National Assembly are continuing meetings with political forces and figures as part of efforts to initiate a vote of no confidence against Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
On September 22, as part of preparations for hearings initiated by the Republican Party of Armenia’s parliamentary faction leader Hayk Mamijanyan, secretary Tigran Abrahamyan, and MP Anna Mkrtchyan met with Prosperous Armenia Party staff chief Iveta Tonoyan and political council member Arman Abovyan.
The I Have Honor faction, based on a statement by the RPA’s Executive Body, decided during a June 7 session to initiate a motion of no confidence in the prime minister under the Constitutional Law on the Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly. The proposed candidate for prime minister is Davit Hambardzumyan, head of the Masis community and RPA Council member.
