Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, speaking at the Armenian Democracy Forum in Yerevan, said that much of what is considered democracy in Armenia today is, in reality, mere foul language.
“We swear at fathers, mothers, children, parents. Civil society is even forced to justify why it greets the government. Fine, justify it, but I ask civil society: who is fighting against this culture of swearing in Armenia?” Pashinyan said, according to Aysor.am .
The prime minister emphasized that obscene speech has nothing to do with democracy.
“Is democracy about cursing? Is democracy about directing sexual insults at small children? Is that democracy?” he asked.
