In the first eight months of 2025, Armenia’s economic activity grew by 7.1% compared to the same period last year. According to the Statistical Committee, in August the index rose 5.4% compared to July and 7.5% year-on-year.
At the same time, industrial output fell 7.8% in January–August, totaling 1.77 trillion drams. However, in August alone, industry grew by 10.7% compared to July and 5.8% compared to August 2024, reaching 268.8 billion drams, Armenpress reported.
Construction maintained significant growth, totaling 374.9 billion drams in January–August, up 20.4% year-on-year. In August, the sector grew 19.4% from July and 21.1% from the same month last year.
Trade turnover reached 4.14 trillion drams since the start of the year, up 3.9% from 2024. In August, trade rose 1.2% month-on-month and 1.7% year-on-year.
The services sector (excluding trade) also expanded, reaching 2.6 trillion drams—10.2% higher than in the same period of 2024. In August, growth stood at 3.8% compared to July and 6.7% year-on-year.
Consumer prices rose 3.2% in January–August compared to last year. In August, inflation was 0.2% month-on-month and 3.6% year-on-year.
The industrial producer price index increased 2.8% in the first eight months. In August, it fell 0.6% compared to July but rose 5.1% year-on-year.
Electricity output reached 5.95 billion kWh, up 3.6% year-on-year. In August, production increased 10.6% compared to July, totaling 854 million kWh—13% above August 2024 levels.
The report highlights that figures exclude autonomous producers’ electricity flows to ensure comparability.
