CEC sets rules for tender to select video recording company

At its regular session on September 25, Armenia’s Central Election Commission (CEC) approved the procedure for selecting a specialized organization to carry out video recording and live broadcasting at polling stations during National Assembly elections and local council elections held under the proportional system, the CEC press service reported.

According to the decision, a commission will be formed by order of the CEC chairman to organize, coordinate, and evaluate the tender. The process will follow Armenia’s Law on Procurement, while taking into account the requirements and deadlines of the Electoral Code, as well as the specific procurement needs for organizing elections.

These changes stem from amendments made to the Electoral Code in 2024.

The CEC also addressed another issue by amending Decision No. 21-N on the types of identification documents for non-citizens during local self-government elections.

According to the amendment, non-citizens will be allowed to vote in local elections using passports issued to refugees under temporary protection. These documents correspond to the description of passports approved by Government Decision No. 821 of December 25, 1998, and carry the code 070.
