The perpetrator is being prosecuted under Article 155, Part 1 (two counts) of the Criminal Code (murder), Article 44-155, Part 1 (attempted murder), and Article 335, Part 1 (illegal circulation of firearms, their main parts, ammunition, and related items)," the statement read.

On September 23 at 11:50 p.m., a deadly armed attack took place in Merdzavan, resulting in the deaths of Volodya Grigoryan, head of the Parakar community, and police officer Karen Abrahamyan. Artzrun Galstyan was also injured by gunfire in the same attack.

It was later revealed that Narek Ohanyan, the suspect in the murder of Volodya Grigoryan and Karen Abrahamyan, had been located and arrested. He is the brother of Grigor Ohanyan, a 29-year-old man murdered in February 2024.

During the pretrial phase of the criminal proceedings, evidence linking Narek Ohanyan to the crime was found in a building belonging to him. These included a mask, gloves, shoes, jacket, and a night-vision device used during the crime. He had attempted to destroy these items by burning them.
