Romania’s Foreign Minister Toyu Oana commented on her meeting with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan on the sidelines of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly. The head of Romania’s foreign ministry shared details in a post on X, Armenpress reported.
“Within the framework of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, I met with the Foreign Minister of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan. Romania remains firmly committed to supporting Armenia’s stability, resilience, and democratic development, both bilaterally and multilaterally. We strongly support regional peace, dialogue, and a comprehensive settlement of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan,” the Romanian foreign minister wrote.
Oana stressed the importance of building a strong and practical partnership between Armenia and Romania for the benefit of both countries and the entire South Caucasus region.
“I strongly support the continued development of relations between Armenia and the EU, in the interests of regional stability, peace, and prosperity,” she added.
On August 8, at the White House, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, U.S. President Donald Trump, and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed a joint declaration summarizing the results of their meeting in Washington. On the same occasion, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov pre-signed the “Agreement on the Establishment of Peace and Interstate Relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan” in the presence of their leaders.
