Parliament approves ban on non-standard sound systems in cars

On September 30, the National Assembly of Armenia discussed and fully adopted in a second reading a legislative package co-authored by Sergey Bagratyan, Alen Simonyan, Hasmik Hakobyan, and Arusyak Julhakyan. The law prohibits the installation and use of additional amplifiers and loudspeakers in vehicles. The initiative aims to prevent loud music from being played in cars.

Main rapporteur Sergey Bagratyan also presented the proposed penalties, 1lurer.am reports.

"Installing or using non-standard light or sound signal devices, mufflers, players, additional amplifiers, or loudspeakers in vehicles during operation will result in a fine equal to ten times the minimum monthly wage. The law also includes the confiscation of such devices and the application of two penalty points," the MP stated.
