Pashinyan: no post-election protests since 2018

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) that since 2018, there have been no protest actions in Armenia in response to the results of any local self-government elections.

He emphasized that opposition forces have also won in various communities — a scenario he said was “practically impossible before the 2018 revolution”, Aysor.am reports.

"The concept of a post-election process has disappeared from Armenia’s political life. Before the 2018 non-violent, popular revolution, it was one of the most frequently used terms in Armenian politics. People placed their hopes for change in post-election processes because they knew the authorities would falsify election results," Pashinyan said.
