The government of Armenia approved an agreement to be signed with the government of Germany in the format of an exchange of notes. The deal provides grant support that does not involve loans, Armenpress reported.
Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan presented the funding areas:
- private sector development and vocational education — up to €6.1 million,
- sustainable energy and climate-resilient community development — up to €6.1 million,
- integrated community development — up to €3.1 million,
- research and expert funds — up to €0.3 million.
In total, the German government will provide €15.6 million in assistance, including staff support, non-financial services, and additional funds if necessary.
Papoyan stressed Armenia’s interest in deepening cooperation with Germany not only in economic and educational fields, but also in political, cultural, and multilateral formats.
