Armenian Ministry denies fake passports found at border

Armenia's Interior Ministry has denied claims that counterfeit Armenian documents were found at the Georgia–Turkey border and were allegedly intended for use during elections.

In recent days, reports circulated alleging that "several tens of thousands of fake passports and documents" were discovered at the Georgia–Turkey border crossing and were meant to be used in elections, according to Armenpress.

Narek Sargsyan, spokesperson for the Minister of Internal Affairs, dismissed the claims: “We are in constant contact with our law enforcement partners in Georgia, and no such incident has been recorded. The report is outright disinformation and has no connection to reality.”
