Armenian, Tajik leaders meet in Dushanbe

During his visit to the capital of Tajikistan, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan held a private meeting with President Emomali Rahmon. Rahmon welcomed the Armenian Prime Minister and said the meeting offered a good opportunity to discuss key issues for the future of bilateral relations.

Prime Minister Pashinyan expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality and emphasized his government’s commitment to expanding and deepening multifaceted ties with Tajikistan.

The two leaders discussed further steps to inject new momentum into trade and economic relations.

They also touched on the opportunities created by the establishment of peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan and the strengthening of regional cooperation, particularly in the context of the TRIPP project and the implementation of the Crossroads of Peace initiative.

President Rahmon welcomed the preliminary signing of the peace agreement following the Washington meeting and expressed Tajikistan’s support for the Armenia-Azerbaijan normalization process.

Prime Minister Pashinyan traveled to Tajikistan from Belgium to attend the CIS Heads of State Summit.
